reality....wow...what a cool concept to grow old with

i have this philosophy about getting old
as always....it is in all liklihood nothing earth shattering
it isn't very well developed....and you probably had the same thoughts
when you were 15
then again...since then....you have forgotten all about it
while i..larry the tortise in lifes tortise and the hare race of thoughts and philosophies and surivival
i have managed to wait until now..in the twilight of my life
to use my mind in a way that shows i am capable of having thoughts
sorta cool
most people at my age...they are all thought out
they spent their early years thinking and doing and living
me....i just was

i will be.....oh my god...gonna be 52 this year
let's not talk about it
let's talk about my philosophy about aging
it is my very own..cultural aging philosophy
pretty simple...yet complicated in a roundish orangy way
i just wrote that to be silly....we almost 52 year olds do that ibland

i worked ...god i forget how long
but i worked at least 10 years as a librarian
more about that later....this is about my observations, my observations that took until now when i am almost 52 to sink in
very simply...when MEN...sometimes women...but often men....when we start getting older
we start getting more into reality and history
not sure why that is....that is for someone else to investigate
i just think
or grubbel if you want
but working as a librarian i saw the pattern day after day
after about 40 or so...we men...we tend to read biographies and history and non fiction books
there really is a good study there for someone
i have recently noticed that my aging philosophy....it works with films too
i love films....but i notice that more and more
that what really gets my old aged juices flowing
is a good documentary
hey..just thought....go visit a family where the man is over 40
see what he watches on tv
chances are pretty damn good...it will be the discovery channel
which will go over to the playboy channel as soon as you leave
but discovery is what he wants you to see him watching

some documentaries for us older...and for even you open minded young things you

tributary is a film all about cover bands....interesting as hell

i am really proud to have gotten ahold of
les blank's werner herzog eats his shoe
the title pretty much says it all

jupiters wife is pretty much all a good documentary should be....an amazing subject told in a captivating way

new york ghetto fishmarket 1903 isn't so much a documentary as it is a piece of history...haven't had time to watch it myself but i am hyped

my friend cary gets named again and again here...if he were older i would ask him to be my mentor...for now i just will be thankful i know the guy
if you come from detroit...you gotta love the mc5
cary has made an arty docu all about them
kick out the jams is the mc5 as seen thru cary eyes

and me....i wanna grow old...watching my baba
