happy new years and a quick turkey recipe

quick notes
we are open wed the 30th of december from 12ish till 630ish and thursday from 12ish till the mail comes round about 3ish. after that we take a 4 day home with the baby vacation...so we say hap hap happy new years now.
monday the somethingth of january 2010 we open anew. welcome!!

anyone making a nice new years day turkey, i have used this same recipe for like 35 years now and so far noone in the family has dared tell me they have tired of it. or maybe they really like it as much as i do.

bad news

i gotta go open the store on monday.
hope your xmas has been as tasty and peaceful as ours has been.
eaten some amazing food and stayed out of the hospital too!
watched films, read, and spent lots of time on the floor with adina.
god do i hate for this time to end!
alas...end it must and end it will, for now.
monday we start life as usual. not quite. we are usually closed on mondays and will be in the future. but this week we open.
12ish till 630ish.
as far as sales. come see. i ain't saying a thing.
just baked some failed and some successful cookies. come taste them all.

mondays i close the store to bond with my daughter adina. she is sleeping so i can't bond. time for some store news.
the 2 biggies are that 1. we got us 2 yes 2 brand new ikea type couches for the back room. so feel free to come sleep. buy first sleep later is our motto. 2. is that yes, we finally can take your money in more ways than one. we now have a credit card machine. god has that already made a difference.
other news is that i am baking again. got some new cookies for this week chocolate cinammon and gonna try for some morning glory cookies today.

this was a quickie. fagge just called about 5 minutes ago and asked if we wanted to do a new show with daniel higgs. guess my answer?
so here we go.
we have not had time to discuss details my guess is it will be about 60 kronor or so. we start at 7ish. NO...i repeat NO beer or wine. coffee, tea, juice and cookies. live with it.
last time daniel played we had about 50 or so...the place holds 15. we were crowded.

the first bit of news is that yessirreee...we just got in a batch of 10 (maybe 9.8 or 7 depending if my kids and baba take any) of the brand spanking new jan stenmark 2010 väggkalender. from what i can see, our price is better than most places too!! 169sek it will cost ya. well worth a year of stenmark on your vägg.
kenny and i both just put in a rarther large for us order of amazing new books. Lots of good stuff, perfect for that early special xmas gift so move fast. The books should be here in a week or 2.
We had our first recorded concert yesterday. Hold your horses bob. magic!

whenever i try to describe HOLD YOUR HORSES BOB, i usually wind up saying it is a mix of lo fi, jazz, folk, classical. And i will once again say, HOLD YOUR HORSES BOB, is a mix of lo-fi, jazz, folk and classical. A wonderful wonderful mix.
I am really proud that they have chosen larrys corner to record their first live cd. Excited too.
Very simple. On saturday oct 31 they will do 2 shows. One around 4ish and one around 6ish. neither will be terribly long but both will be pretty damn cool. It is pretty much just drop in. No tickets and no drinks but feel free to buy some coffee or juice.

meet kevin frato

Kevin Frato has done the impossible. I am nor sure what that is but I do know he has written a new engelsk/swedish book that has been getting some rave reviews. Poor Kevin has been knocked pretty ragged from a 3 week long cold now, but it is now or never and we are saying NOW. On monday october 19 roundabout 18ish you are welcome to meet a hopefully healthy Kevin and talk a bissle about his book with Kevin. Take my word, an extremely nice guy! Otherwise I would not open on a monday!

oh well
just got word from fire flower people. they cannot make it tmaro for the show. such is life. the good news is, i spent all day baking some cool new ginger cookies for the show and since there is no show, they will now be available to all customers. we got alot of plans for some more shows so stay tuned. see ya
